How do I hide faces in a photo?

Choose a photo to automatically pixelate detected faces. Tap a face to reveal it, or use Add area to cover anything the detector missed. Review the whole photo, then save an edited JPEG.

Does my photo get uploaded?

No. Your photo and face detection results stay in your browser. The site downloads its app and detection model, but never uploads your image. No account, ads, or analytics.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Use a recent Safari or Chrome browser. JPEG, PNG, and WebP are supported. HEIC support varies; if your photo will not open, convert a copy to JPEG first. No app installation is needed.

Does pixelation guarantee anonymity?

No. Check for missed faces, and remember that clothing, name tags, and backgrounds can identify someone. Use Solid for an opaque mask when needed. Always review the image before sharing.

What happens to image quality?

Your original is untouched. The edited copy is a high-quality JPEG without the original location metadata. HDR and colors may change. Very large photos are resized, with a notice before saving.

Save a separate, edited JPEG without the original metadata, such as location. HDR and original colors may not be preserved. Large photos are resized to fit within 4,096 pixels on the longest side and 16 megapixels.

A few useful controls

Tap a face outline to hide or reveal it. Pinch or use the zoom buttons for a closer look. With a keyboard, focus an outline and use the arrow keys to move it, Shift + arrows to resize it, or Delete to remove it.

JPEG, PNG, and WebP are supported. HEIC support depends on your browser. Choosing another photo or closing the page discards your edits.
